Antipasto

The Italian starter

Antipasto is the Italian term for a starter, appetiser or hors d'ouvre. Literally meaning 'before the pasta', it can consist of almost anything.

Popular antipasti include a platter of salami, prosciutto and other cold meats with olives and pickles, or bruschetta, crostini, seafood, cheese, marinated and grilled vegetables... the list is endless.
