Langoustines

A member of the lobster family

Langoustine is an alternative (posher!) name for dublin bay prawns or scampi.

A small member of the lobster family, they are more often treated in culinary terms as a large shrimp or prawn.

Older specimens can weigh up to a quarter of a kilogram, but most are caught before they reach this size.
