Nigel Slater

A suceessful food writer and exponent of 'real food'

Nigel Slater is a food writer and sometime TV presenter. His take on cooking is very much in the 'real food' category, with seasonal ingredients cooked simply to produce dishes with a high comfort factor. Indeed, one of his books is entitled 'Nigel Slater's Real Food'.

Other books of his include the much praised 'Toast - The story of a boy's hunger', which is not a cook book at all but a moving and intimate account of his childhood and teenage years, although food is of course the binding theme.

His latest book is Kitchen Diaries, a diary of his eating over a full year, highlighting seasonal recipes.

Nigel Slater is currently the food editor of the Observer sunday newspaper.
