Ramsons



Alternative name for wild garlic

Ramsons is another name for wild garlic, a member of the allium family related to cultivated garlic, onions and chives.

The plant can be found in spring and early summer, growing wild usually in shady and damp areas.

Other names for the plant include wood garlic, ransomes, stinkplant, devil's posy, and onion flower.

Try ramson and nettle soup, Just stick as many young nettles as you can get in a big pan with plenty of ramsons, leaves/flowers/roots and all,and boil it up with chicken or veggie stock depending on your own culinary persuasion.
